Model Answer:
Over the course of the twenty-first century, automobiles have developed from expensive vehicles for elite class into the moderate mode of transportation for middle-class. Consequently, more and more people are depending on their private cars and car has become the prime means of transportation. Unfortunately, many adverse effects, such as health harm, environmental damage, etc., are stemmed from the excessive dependence on cars. As far as I am concerned, the government should adopt an integrated policy.

The trend in car reliance has fatal impacts on the human being as well as the planet.  People tend to avoid walking when they own private car. This means that the private car entices people to keep themselves physically inactive, which in turn contribute to the obesity and health related problems. On the top of that, the heavy reliance on private cars impacts on the environment extremely. They emit a significant amount of toxic gases that causes global warming. As a result of global warming, many species are on the verge of extinction, even the whole planet remains under the threat of it. The private cars, therefore, should be controlled.

In order to rein the reliance on private cars, a coherent policy ought to be introduced by the government. First of all, the government should strengthen public transportation system, so that people can easily commute. In addition to this, the government should launch a campaign to aware citizens about the devastating impacts of using private cars excessively. Knowing the lethal impact on our planet, individual can change their driving habits.

To wrap up, societal car reliance is one of the most pressing issues in many urban areas. The dependency on private car is not only harmful to the public health, but it equally has the detrimental effect of pollution on the environment. The government should adopt a combined policy including public transport system strengthening and educating people about the adverse effects of using private cars.
