Films are the representation of real life. When the films are made, most of the time the filmmakers try to get in touch with the reality. Further, when a film is made, it represents the country where it was made. I have come to know about certain matters from watching foreign films. The matters were really interesting.

Usually, I love to watch Hollywood movies and the western genre goes best with me. Most of the western movies are made based on the events that took place during the later part of the 19th century. The location was the Old West and the characters were the gunfighters or cowboys. The movies represented the Cowboys in some typical attires of the then time. This is an important aspect that I came to know about the western films. It shows how the countrymen at that time used to wear dresses and moved in places. Besides, the majority of the characters used to ride horses. It also provides an idea of the communication system of the locality which the film represents.

Moreover, there were some other characters in those western films like bounty hunters, outlaws, soldiers, lawmen, bandits, Native Americans and many others. They were the stronger section of the society while the old, women and children were the vulnerable section. Such films also tell us about the settlers who came in search of something and settled in that specific place. Fight for gaining respective rights or ‘duel’ was the most common issue in those movies. There were less legal obligations in duels. It shows that the law and order system in those days in the localities was not so strong as it is today.

On the other side, if we consider the present day films, they show an opposite scene. I have seen some other films where the matters of present days have been represented. The films represent that violation of laws is a punishable offence and the accused are punished once they are proved guilty. The law and order situation is always under control.

Therefore, it finally appears that films really can tell us a lot about the country it is made in. I believe that watching a film helps someone greatly to develop real-life ideas about the country.

Television is one of the best inventions of modern science and it has turned into the part and parcel of our everyday life. We watch television and mostly different programs that entertain us and help getting relieve from the monotonous life, but there are plenty of programs that update us about the current happening and enhance our knowledge.

There are different programs are aired on television and there are numerous channels to telecast the programs. The programs are of diversified categories including drama, comedy shows, reality shows, movies, cartoons and much other. But each of the programs has a specified group of audience and a program neither can entertain all ages of people nor suitable for all classes of people. Usually, the kids are fond of cartoons, women of different age are fond of dramas but movies are popular almost among the people of all ages. Besides, reality shows show the performances of the real-life people and the enjoyment is more than any other category. So, I like the reality shows much than any other television programs.

The first thing is the suspense of the reality shows which offer a special sort of thrill to me that I cannot derive from the other types of programs. The activities undertaken by the participants are praiseworthy. Since the programs are made live, the participants have to use their ready wits and common senses to overcome the obstacles. They invent and apply different techniques for the survival on the real life situations which is a great learning tool for me too. Besides, the reality shows also create a sense of sympathy for the contestant which is another important issue. In drama serials, the audience is made to feel sorry for the characters and they feel so which last during the end of the drama. But the reality shows are the best program to feel the very same feelings of the participants. Whenever they make a mistake, unintentionally, the audiences try to get inside of the television to teach them the right one.

But such a mental participation is not seen on the other television programs. The reality shows help to build a mental connection with the contestant and I have seen some of my favorite fellows to celebrate the victory of their favorite contestant while I have seen a gloomy state of some of my friends as their favorite one has lost in the event. It is the grand success of the reality shows that they have become an integrated part of the audiences’ life.

I usually watch the reality shows like Weed Country, The Gossip Game, Branson Famous, Chrisley Knows Best, Escape Club, Party Down South, The Real Housewives of Melbourne, Rich Kids of Beverly Hills, Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood, This Is Hot 97, Boston EMS etc. Few of the shows have been ended and I have been eagerly waiting for their next seasons.

People usually pass their leisure hours through different entertaining activities. Watching television programs, playing video games or watching movies at theaters are the most common form of entertainment, globally.

It is highly familiar that the movies or television program or video games are entertaining and help eliminate tiredness or boredom. Thereby, the number of video game players or movie audience is on the increase. But we never think of the issue that sometimes we are subconsciously influenced by the movies we watch or the video games we play.

In fact, the young section of the society is mostly vulnerable to the influence and they try to replicate the events they watch on television or in movies. It is important to be noted that the events shown on movies or television programs are made for specific purposes or to make people relaxed. Sometimes there are special effects also applied to make the programs or movies more attractive and most importantly the activities are performed by professional people.

But when a kid watches an action movie, s/ he tries to imitate the action sequences. They try to fight like the heroes did on the movie. One of the most viewed television programs is the wrestling program organized by WWE and it has a global audience. People get enjoyment when they see different wrestling stars are fighting against one another. But when the young people watch the program, they start acting like the wrestlers they have seen performing in the event.

As a result, they receive injuries while sometimes the injuries are so serious that they could claim lives too. Why does it happen? It happens as the young generation is highly influenced by the program. For another instance, video games have different characters engaged in fighting sometimes with evils and sometimes against themselves. But they do exist in the real life and their fighting skills are made outstanding with special effects.

Sometimes kids try to replicate the video game fighters and term themselves with the similar name of the characters they have seen in the video games. They try to fight with their classmates, friends or someone else and consequently either they get injured or they make the people injured for their unskilled fighting attitudes. They start believing themselves as the fighting characters of real life. Moreover, there are some television programs over survival in different unfavorable conditions and the programs are made with proper care, attention and technological applications are also notable. But when the young people see the programs, they start believing that they are living in a jungle and have to eat raw foods which are in fact unhealthy and inappropriate for them. They may fall ill for the foods or serious health hazards may also occur with them.

When the young people watch the horror shows on television, they try to scare people by the ways shown on the program. Accordingly, they plan to frighten their surrounding mates or sometimes parents which are entirely unwanted for all. Shockingly, the people with weak hearts may fall victim of death too.

So, all the parents should provide a guideline to their kids over watching movies, television programs or playing video games lets their children do not get spoilt or develop any unusual behavioral pattern among them. It is only the parents who could save the young generation from being influenced by the programs or video games.

Earlier, the authority did not allow us to watch a television in our dormitory and even there was no television set too.

It appears to me that the decision is good enough for the students living in the dormitory. By watching television, we could be able to learn about the happenings. Although there are numerous channels showing a great number of programs, the dormitory students will be able to watch the news and educative events aired on the television channels. I think that the authority should have taken the decision before and that would be more helpful for the students to keep pace with the instant changing world.

Watching television has many advantages. The most important fact is that it provides us entertainment. Students who pass the day in stress may sit in front of a television set in the dormitory to enjoy the interesting programs and remove the monotony of the hectic working day. The programs are interesting and also help to enrich knowledge. There are some educative programs are also made aiming to increase attention over science. Some of the programs show us how to survive or use the common tools for survival. Moreover, the movies aired on the television channel provide us with great joy. Another most important benefit of television is the news it airs. The happenings of the world are found on the box and people could be informed about any of the happenings taking place in the remotest part of the world. So, watching television in the university dormitory has some positive impacts.

But there is nothing in the world without any detrimental impacts. Watching television has some disadvantages too. There are some students who always prefer to sit before the television set and enjoy their favorite programs. They do not bother about the preference of the remaining students. Besides, the students may not always watch the programs with educative value rather they prefer enjoying thriller movies, drama serials, cartoons and other unnecessary episodes. Sometimes they start quarreling over watching any specific program on any specific channel. Most of the time the student watch sports programs leaving behind their studies which may prove harmful for their education.

Such disadvantages may turn into major issues if not taken care of. I think a routine to watch television on the dormitory should be made and implemented by the authority so that all the students follow the routine and their academic improvements do not get hampered for watching television excessively.

Therefore, the importance of a movie theater cannot easily be ignored.

But I am opposing the idea to establish a movie theater in my neighborhood. There are few troubles when a movie theater is set up in a residential area. Usually, the movie theaters turn in to a crowded place as a large number of audiences come here to enjoy movies. But if the movie theatre is built in a residential area, the area will be uninhabitable for dealing with the large crowd.

The most shocking fact is that the residential area will rapidly turn into a commercial area or a commercial hub for different sorts of businessmen. When the movie theatre will be built in our neighborhood which still today is considered as a posh residential area of the city, the natural environment will be damaged greatly. We have a calm and peaceful environment around us. But when the mass audience will start coming, the peace will lose its natural charm and will be destroyed too.

Moreover, the movie theater needs a large space to be established. To set the theatre up, huge trees will be cut down by the authority. There are different types of trees have been planted in the area and all of them are grown up, used as nest by numerous birds. It is known to all that trees help to make the environment cool and lively.  If the trees are cut down, the ecology of the area will be under threat. The birds and other tiny insects living on the trees will lose their habitat and may get extinct too. The residents will also miss the natural shades and the heavenly setting of the area.

Therefore, it appears that establishing a movie theatre in a residential area is one of the worst ideas. The theater owners should ponder over the issue once again and should pick any commercial space for their purpose.

Television is a great medium for entertainment and communicating information.

Television, no wonder, is one of the greatest inventions of all times and allows people to learn about the news and information of the remotest part of the world. The visual representation is the most attractive thing and thus people watch television for their recreation. But it has some detrimental effects too which is entirely unwanted and leading the viewers towards isolation.

Generally, the television shows are interesting and people like to watch them in their leisure hours. As a result, the number of television channels has increased globally, television programs are diversified and most of the television stations broadcast the programs around the day. Even there are channels which do not get closed for a single moment round the year as they have a great competition to attract the viewers.

As a result, the common people are getting more attracted to television channels. They prefer sitting before the television set whenever they could manage time. Even there are people who take breaks or return from their jobs early only to enjoy their favourite television programme. They enjoy the programmes very well.

Unfortunately, they are entirely unaware of the fact that they are losing their social and communal relations. When they get back at home, they take seats before the television set and watch the programs. But once when the television was not discovered or the number of stations was limited, people used to spend most of their leisure hours with their friends of family members. The inter-personal relationships were jovial and people used to miss each other.

But with the advanced science and technological inventions, people are reluctant to spend time outside. Seating before the television set is preferable to them now. If such trends continue, someday it may happen that social relations will disappear from the society. The bondage will decline.

Therefore, the people who watch television more than spending some quality moments with their family, kids, friends and other relations should be careful about the issue or they may turn looser in such relations in the upcoming days.
